Classic Canadian Songs from Smithsonian Folkways

Folkways Records and Service Co. was founded by Moses "Moe" Asch (1905–86) in New York City in 1948. Asch's mission was to record and document "people's music" and, ultimately, the entire world of sound. Before his death in 1986 he had issued 2,168 albums on the Folkways label-an average rate of one album per week for 40 years! Moe oversaw virtually every aspect of production, marketing, and distribution himself.
