Classic Canadian Songs from Smithsonian Folkways

In 1985 Moe Asch and his wife Frances donated a complete set of Folkways records-the only such gift that they ever made-to the University of Alberta, where their son Michael was Professor of Anthropology. The Moses and Frances Asch Collection inspired the unique partnership into which the University of Alberta entered with Smithsonian Folkways Recordings in 2003, establishing folkwaysAlive! to carry the legacy of Folkways in Canada forward.
