Wasanti Paranjape, Musical Pioneer

Canada has long been a place where various ethnic and religious communities from all over the world settle, sharing cultures and enriching musical life. Indian classical music came to Canada through special individuals who combined talent and training with the passion to keep their music alive in their new home. One such musical pioneer is Mrs. Wasanti Paranjape, a respected Hindustani musician, who immigrated to Canada in 1961, bringing with her a remarkable combination of comprehensive musical training and a progressive family background that prepared her for her musical mission in Canada.
