Ukrainian Roots Music in Canada

When the Iron Curtain fell, a fourth wave of Ukrainian immigrants arrived in Canada from Poland, Bosnia, and Ukraine. These new Ukrainian Canadians had different musical tastes and often combined contemporary European pop styles with traditional folk songs. Many of the new tunes were adopted by Ukrainian Canadians from earlier waves of immigration to revitalize and expand their own repertoires.
