The Story of Heritage Records

Huculak's first experience in record production was The Ukrainian Centennial Album, issued in 1967 for Canada's centennial celebrations. Radio announcer Dan Chomlak and fiddler Jimmy Watsko provided production assistance. The album featured thirteen Ukrainian bands from the Edmonton area. Huculak selected the bands based on their dedication to preserving traditional Ukrainian music as well as their ability as entertainers. This album marked the beginning of the Heritage Record label.
